BBC Radio 2 has this morning been ‘inundated’ with messages paying tribute to legendary DJ Steve Wright after his death aged 69.
The channel was overwhelmed with calls on Wednesday morning from ‘devastated’ listeners who shared how the radio giant put a smile on their faces every week, as they paid tribute to the ‘type, funny, humble and loveable’ megastar.
Loving fanatics shared their heartfelt recollections with Nicki Chapman while she sat in for Zoe Ball, who was absent for unknown causes, in a different BBC breakfast display devoted to the loved DJ.
The ‘one in one million’ radio presenter was adored by means of generations of households across the UK, with some saying he ‘was like a chum’ and others expressing how they're suffering to come to phrases with his death.
